Tofoli’s men had the better of Castellana Grotte on a 3-0 score to join their opponent of the day at the top of the group. A big crowd came to see this encounter between the top two teams. Siena took the first set, while at the end of a tight second, coach Tofoli sent on Menicali and Noda Blanco. The latter had an immediate impact and spiked for a 23-21 lead. The first set point came thanks to Padura at 24-23 but Russomanno’s serve went out. Noda Blanco and Padura Diaz took care of business to win it 26-24. The Spaniard Noda Blanco was on fire in the third as Siena escaped at 14-10 and they would hang on to this four-point lead till the end to make it a sweep.
