Last round of Unipolsai Superleague regular season, last places to fill in the playoffs. In this last game of regular season Unipolsai Superleague will support the “Rare Diseases Day”, focusing on the research.

The fight for second, fourth and eighth place will be the leit motiv of this final round of regular season in Unipolsai Superleague. On tomorrow Bunge Ravenna and Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia will face each other at Pala De Andrè in Ravenna for a no tomorrow game which will set the eighth place in playoff bracket. The other games will take place on sunday at 18, Gi Group Monza – Diatec Trentino live on Rai Sport 1, and Exprivia Molfetta – Cucine Lube Civitanova, Sir Safety Conad Perugia – Calzedonia Verona, Top Volley Latina – Revivre Milano, Azimut Modena – LPR Piacenza e Kioene Padova – Biosì Indexa Sora, all live on Lega Volley Channel.

Bunge Ravenna is looking for a playoff qualification after the win at PalaPolsinelli versus Sora. Ravenna can also looking for seventh place, where Gi Group Monza has only 2 points of advantage, but first they will need to contain the attack of Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia, in ninth place, 3 points behind Ravenna in the standings. If Vibo will win on Ravenna conquering the three poins, they will be tied with Bunge but in eighth place because of one more win in the total count in the season.

Gi Group Monza already qualified for playoffs will need to defend the seventh place. Will not be easy, facing on the home turf Diatec Trentino, a team who’s running for the second place in the final standings. With a 3-0 or 3-1 win, or with the same result of Sir Safety Conad Perugia, Angelo Lorenzetti’s team will be definitively in second place.

Exprivia Molfetta in eleventh place in the standings, out of the playoffs, will need to reach at least the Playoffs for 5th place. Will not be an easy job, because Molfetta will play versus Cucine Lube Civitanova, a team already sure of first place and waiting only to know which team will face them in the quarterfinals. Lube won 6 times in 7 games versus Molfetta.

Sir Safety Conad Perugia will need a win in last game of regular season, to stay on course for the second place in the Unipolsai Superleague standings. Lorenzo Bernardi’s team has a worst set-difference with Trento, and to grab the second place will need to earn one point more than Trento. Will not be easy, because Trento will play at Home where they are undefeated in season, and Perugia will face at PalaEvangelisti Calzedonia Verona, a team in good shape in this final part of the season, a team who’s looking for the fourth place in the standings. Now Nikola Grbic’s team is tied with Azimut Modena at 50 points, but with a worst set difference, so they will need a little luck to overtake Modena in fourth place.

Top Volley Latina lost the chance to earn a playoffs spot, after the loss last wednesday in Vibo Valentia, now they have the target to reach the playoffs for 5th place. Latina will need a win over Revivre Milano, a team in trouble in this final part of the season, a team who lost 6 of 7 games versus Latina in the top league. Milano in last place will end the season with a bitter end, after starting the season with other targets.

Azimut Modena lost at Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova Marche versus Lube in yesterday’s game, but now they will see former italian national team setter Dragan Travica in the roster, arrived to improve the team looking out to the playoffs. Coach Lorenzo Tubertini’s team is focused on the fourth place. Modena will earn the fourth by winning versus LPR Piacenza on sunday, Piacenza in sixth place of the standings, already sure of a playoff spot, coming from a win at tie break versus Kioene Padova.

Kioene Padova coming from a tie break loss in Piacenza versus Lpr, will close the regular season in eleventh place, looking for a win in last game of regular season versus Biosì Indexa Sora, a team already defeated 10 times in 17 total games between these two teams. Sora lost by Ravenna of former Coach Soli in front of their fans in previous round of Unipolsai Superleague. Sora has 1 point of advantage on Padova in the standings, so if Sora will lose this last game, Padova will overtake Biosì Indexa in the final standings.

On the other side of the net there will be alot of former players of Padova, so we will need to keep the head up high and give a joy to our fans. Unfortunately this season has not been so good for us, we want to show our value, showing we fight until the end”.

Bruno Bagnoli (allenatore BioSì Indexa Sora): “Versus Ravenna we paid some condition troubles because of too many games in this part of the season, so after the good game in Vibo we were tired and out of power. Andrea Mattei out of an injury, was ready and made some good plays. It’s good to play at Kioene Arena, we’ll try to do our best on that turf, we’ll play like it was a final. Padova is a strong team, good down the net but sometimes they suffer in reception. Because of this, the setter sometimes struggles to set the right way. For sure Maar is the key player of the team, will be an intense game, we need to be calm and quiet, as we did versus Vibo”.
