Today’s game was a real battle, especially in first two sets, finished both at the extras, with Perugia who had the chance, in first and in second set, to win the partial, being in front 22-19 in both sets, but suffering the comeback of Trento until 24-24, winning 28-26 first and 30-28 second. In third Perugia fought back, taking the lead as they did in previous sets, but keeping it until the end, winning 25-22. In fourth Mvp Trento’s captain Filippo Lanza stepped up, driving Diatec to a great 25-21 fourth set win, winning the game and taking the lead in the series. MVP: Lanza

Tine Urnaut (Diatec Trentino): “We played in front our sell out crowd, feeling the enthusiasm of the fans. We were good in first and second set to come back, trailing until the win at the extras. Now we are in front in the series, but historically, in Perugia we always struggled”.

Lorenzo Bernardi (Sir Safety Conad Perugia): “Trento showed their strength and their determination in fighting until the end on every single ball. This happened in first, second and fourth sets. Our problem was we tought we already won those sets, paying the price of this attitude. We wasted a big chance”.

Despite the comeback of Modena, with Travica in place of Orduna and Massari in place of Petric, first set was 25-21 in favour of Lube, with a great performance in reception by defence (80%). the game in second set saw some breaks from both sides, with the 26-24 win for Civitanova at the extras. In third Modena improved in reception and in the serve, still with Travica on the court in place of Orduna, winning the set 25-21, dominating the fourth 25-15 with a great offensive performance by Earvin Ngapeth, driving Azimut Modena to a great comeback. In the tie break was an huge and balanced battle, with the decisive break for Lube on 8-6 with a block of Kovare on Vettori. Two more blocks in a row by Stankovic gave 14-11 lead to Lube, who won the fifth 15-12.

Tsvetan Sokolov (Cucine Lube Civitanova): “It was a tough and difficult game, exactely as we expected. They were great in third and fourth, they stepped up putting us in trouble, we don’t have to forget they are the defending champs. This is a balanced series, we are happy for this win, now let’s think to next challenge”.

Lorenzo Tubertini (Azimut Modena): “We played for the win, but in the end Lube was better than us. We struggled in serve and attack in first set, then we fixed the things and played a game on the edge. We almost won the game, we are sad for this result”.

Attendance: 2532

Mvp: Hernandez

Alberto Giuliani (LPR Piacenza): “there was some pressure on us, we needed to win, we had a match ball on the home turf in front of our fans, and we won. We will play in Final Four, we deserved it. We weren’t always good on the court today, probably because of the party before the game..I’m happy for Papi and Zlatanov, I love those two old men!”

Daniele Bagnoli (Top Volley Latina): “We weren’t able to play with our usual starting six. It was a fight, they were great, they are a great team. Hernandez made the difference in the fundamental of serve. I had the honour to coach Samuele Papi for 8 years, at his best, for this I have been a very lucky coach, together we won alot of trophies”.

Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia – Bunge Ravenna 1-3 (22-25, 25-19, 22-25, 24-26) – Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia: Coscione 6, Geiler 12, Costa 17, Michalovic 18, Alves Soares 5, Barone 10, Marra (L), Izzo 0, Corrado 1, Diamantini 0. N.E. Torchia, Rejlek. All. Kantor. Bunge Ravenna: Spirito 0, Lyneel 14, Ricci 2, Torres 21, Van Garderen 14, Bossi 8, Grozdanov 3, Goi (L), Leoni 0, Raffaelli 2, Kaminski 4. N.E. Marchini. All. Soli. ARBITRI: Tanasi, Cipolla. NOTE – durata set: 27′, 25′, 26′, 30′; tot: 108′.

Mvp: Maurice Armando Torres

Attendance: 1600

Rocco Barone (Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia): “We stepped out of the court with the head up high. All the best to Ravenna, but we don’t have any excuse. We are so sad because we lost first set after being up by 7, this is so bad. We are sad because the season is over for us, but if we analyze all the season, we should be happy, we the players, the club, the staff and the fans”.

Fabio Soli (Bunge Ravenna): “On today we suffered alot. Vibo is a great team, great players great club, great front office, great fans. Today Tonno Callipo played a great game, putting us in trouble several times. We were great to suffer and resist, stepping up and giving everything on the court. Now we’ll play semifinal versus Calzedonia Verona. They are stronger than us, we know it, but we will be serene, playing at our best”.

For the third time in the season Gi Group Monza defeated 3-0 Exprivia Molfetta on the home turf. Next thursday Monza will have the chance to clinch a Final Four spot in Game 4 at PalaPoli in Molfetta. It was a great win for Monza, great in attack (59%), with a great performance of Mvp of the Game Hirsch, 15 points and 65% in attack, of german spiker Christian Fromm, 14 points, and a useful Botto, 13 points with 3 aces and 3 blocks. Attendance: 1423

MVP: Simon Hirsch

Simon Hirsch (Gi Group Monza): “On today we played great volleyball, we kept continuity in all the fundamentals, attack, reception, defence, serve. We made some quality work in practice last week. Will not easy to play Game 4 in Molfetta, they have warm and noisy fans, and everything will be more difficult. We will need to be preparred, as we we were on today. We will have three days to practice hard preparring the game. We want the Final Four”.

Bogdan Olteanu (Exprivia Molfetta): “We knew to play versus Gi Group in Monza would be very difficult. they played a great game, they limited our play in the key moments of the game. Nothing changed from last week when we won. We only lost continuity in attack and in the serve, and they took advantage on this. We will playh game 4 in Puglia, we’ll be ready. We want to reach the Final Four”.
