First week of athletic training with the Italian champions of Cucine Lube Civitanova for two talented emerging young people, the free Francesco D’Amico (three-year contract) and the hitter Mattia Gottardo (annual loan), both arrived thanks to the summer market, rich of enthusiasm and full of expectations.

In the late morning the two athletes, together with the vice president Albino Massaccesi and the dg Beppe Cormio, met journalists and fans in the Eurosuole Forum press room, exclaiming in unison that they were dealing with a “top-level athletic training and organization flawless! ”

Dg Beppe Cormio: “This conference is the seal of the rejuvenation operation initiated by the Club. We courted D’Amico who had already passed through the Academy Volley Lube and we are sure that over time he will be a SuperLega holder, with us or with another Club. Gottardo comes from the successes with the national youth teams. After the U21 World Cup victory, Velasco also spoke very highly of him. Mattia proves to be brave because he played free in Padua, while with us he will return to the role of hitter! ”

Vice President Albino Massaccesi: “For us it is a pleasure to have such young boys, Mattia in Padua was our rival even in the youth finals. Among other things, I really appreciated him when I saw him play as a spiker, I was surprised to find him free with Kioene, but he did very well. “Ciccio” grew up in our nursery, also winning national titles in red and white in his second year. We were undecided whether to keep him or let him have an experience in A2 first and he went to Bergamo proving he was ready “.

Libero Francesco D’Amico: “I continue to look at the Lube champions as if they were aliens, but now from closer. I have admired them for years, playing with whoever has won everything is a great honor. I am inspired by Balaso and, even if it will be tough, I intend to try to emulate his exploits or at least do my best. In Bergamo I have never won the A2 Championship, but we took away the satisfaction of raising several category cups to the sky. I thank the fans for the welcome and for the scarf they gave me at the end of the press conference. The first week of the rally was tough, but the effort is offset by the great pleasure of being part of the Lube project. The priorities are the technical aspects to be improved at this stage. The advantage of having staff and coach available makes us even more energized for the next sessions.
