The “Giancarlo Parenti” Memorial, 2022 edition, will be held on Saturday 1 October, at 6.00 pm, and will see the hosts of the Kemas Lamipel S. Croce (A2 M) and the welcome guests of the Normanna Aversa Academy Wow Green House. A high-profile race, given the thickness of the visiting team, a test match that will not only have the function of breaking in Mastrangelo’s boys (as well as the challengers) in view of the imminent start of the season; the Memorial is an event that every year calls together the red and white people, who prepare the whole environment, and not just the team, for the official start. It will be fully open to the public and the hope is that this will be particularly numerous and noisy, in memory of Giancarlo Parenti, founder of the Fossa dei Lupi, a historic group of organized supporters.
THE MEMORIAL: “It was the year 1977”. 45 years ago, Giancarlo Parenti was one of the founders of the leading group of the most passionate and passionate Santacrocese fans, the Fossa dei Lupi. In 1986, still in his prime, he died in a car accident. The following year, friends, fellow supporters and the red and white club decided to pay homage to him by setting up a tournament in his name and in memory. The first edition, was 1987, saw Sestese (A2 M), Arno Castelfranco (B M) and the same “Lupi” at the starting line. The event has been going on for all these years, there are thirty-five, except for physiological moments of “pause” on the occasion of years not particularly favorable for the partnership or changes of location or other. In 2016, the Memorial restarted after a five-year hiatus and has had no interruptions since then. Last year, Emma Villas Aubay Siena won it after a thrilling tie-break battle.
THE OPPONENT TEAM: the Wow Green House in Aversa (Caserta) is an ambitious team of A3 Credem Banca included in the Blue group.
