Bluenergy Daiko Volley Piacenza left in the morning with a flight from Bergamo to reach Istanbul where on Wednesday 14 December at 4.00 pm local time (2.00 pm in Italy) it will face Fenerbahce in the second leg of the Round of 16 of the Cev Volleyball Cup.

To qualify for the successful round, it will be enough for the red and white to win two sets given that they won 3-1 in the first leg.

The Turkish team is currently sixth in the standings in Efeler Ligi, the Turkish championship which sees 12 teams at the start: 22 points gained thanks to eight wins and four defeats. In the last league match, played last Saturday away, they defeated former leaders Ziraat Bankasi 3-1 (21-25, 25-19, 20-25 and 17-25). The last championship closed him in third place, the previous one in second while the last championship he won in the 2018-2019 season. It is coached by Daniel Jorce Castellani, with a past in Italy having played in Chieti, Falconara, Bologna, Padova and Prato and as a coach he has led formations from half the world.
