FIVB announced the dates, place, formula and participants of the 2022 Club World Cup, confirming the presence of the Italian Itas Trentino (second in the last edition of the CEV Champions League) and of Sir Safety Susa Perugia (third classified in the top continental trophy).

The one between 7 and 11 December 2022 will be the seventh “Club World Championship” staged in Betim, Brazil, the second consecutive after the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2019 and 2021 editions.

The two teams of SuperLega Credem Banca will have to contend with the top three in the South American Championship, that is the reigning champions of Sada Cruzeiro (qualified however as host club), Itambé Minas and Volei Renata, and with the Iranian Asian Champions of Paykan Tehran. The Trentino club, in its tenth participation in the tournament, will pursue its sixth title, while the Umbrians will look for a debut with a bang in their first participation.

The formula remains unchanged compared to the last edition: the six teams will be divided into two groups of three formations each, which will play a round robin between 7 and 9 December, at the end of which the first two of each group will enter the final phase with Semifinals and Finals, scheduled for 10 and 11 December.
