The Block Devils’ upcoming participation in the Club World Cup in India requires a change in the SuperLega Credem Banca calendar. The match of the 9th first leg of the Regular Season between Sir Susa Vim Perugia and Pallavolo Padova, scheduled for the weekend of 10 December at the PalaBarton in Pian di Massiano, will be brought forward to 8.30pm tomorrow, Wednesday 22 November.

This is the 26th match in Serie A between the Umbrian team and Padova, who have only prevailed on four occasions so far. The ranking is very different: the hosts are second, one point from the top, with a roadmap made up of 5 victories and only one defeat (at the tie break on the pitch of the Italian vice-champions), while the guests are further back in the ranking, at 7 points, but they were able to put together surprising performances. Both teams arrive at the match with high morale. On Sunday Angelo Lorenzetti’s men (head coach of European Padova in 2000/01) achieved a monstrous comeback against Piacenza, right at the PalaBarton, from 0-2 to 3-2, while Jacopo Cuttini’s team in Saturday’s advance he made the Veneto derby against Verona his own, finishing the match in four sets in front of the fans at the Kioene Arena. Julio Cesar Cardenas Morales, who last year was on the Perugian roster, returns to Umbria as an opponent for the first time.
