It should – the conditional is a must in these cases – be his last year of volleyball, “the last dance”. Meanwhile, it is certain that Enrico Zorzi has signed yet another renewal with the Delta Group Porto Viro. For the Paduan lifter, born in 1990, 182 centimeters tall, the curtain rises on the sixth season in black and fuchsia, the fourth in a row.

Already starting setter for Porto Viro in Serie B, between 2015 and 2017, Zorzi returned to Polesine in 2020 aware that he had to fill the role of assistant. Kindgard, Fabroni, since last season Garnica: in the Delta Group control room there have been changes in recent years, but the “Maestro” has always remained in his place. And he was ready whenever his contribution was needed, even in the locker room, of which he undoubtedly remains one of the charismatic leaders.

As usual filled with adrenaline and irony, Zorzi comments on the extension of his contract thus: “How can I not be happy with this renewal? I do a job that makes me feel good and that a lot of people dream of, for which I thank the President and the whole company. Whether this will really be my last dance… it’s hard to say ‘out loud’. But yes, I decided to stay in Porto Viro for another season, before moving to Switzerland next year. At least, that’s the plan for now. By the way, in the coming months we could think about launching the fundraiser ‘The Maestro never gives up’ to support my sports pension…”, he jokes.

“This year Delta and I are celebrating our sixth anniversary together – continues the Paduan setter – we worked so hard, year after year, to take a place in the sun in this incredible Serie A. It’s nice to look to the future but every now and then you have to stop and savor the present: well… we are here! The key to doing well next season too? I don’t want to talk about hard work, after all we are here for this, but about a group in which every element has an essential role. To the whole environment, to our fans, I ask you to continue to make us feel at home as always, I’m sure that in this way the talent of the individual will be available for the team’s result”.

The wish list for this last black-fuchsia dance is quite succinct: “I want to enjoy every moment, that’s my goal. I live to collect memories and I’m still not tired of trying every day.”
