Palazzo Geremia in Trento hosted Fabio Soli’s first day as coach of the men’s team of Trentino Volley. The new coach was officially presented in the historic town hall, in front of a large group of journalists, insiders but also many fans, who did not want to miss the opportunity to hear the first words of the forty-three-year-old from Emilia live Gialloblù Head Coach.
“I am happily excited – admitted Fabio Soli during the press conference -; I believe that the world of sport is capable of making many feelings of this type feel, very strong, and I am proud to feel emotions in being here. Trentino Volley’s call came unexpectedly, but it’s the one that every coach would like to receive sooner or later during his career. The agreement was reached in a very short time. I will put all the effort possible; can’t promise results, but definitely quality of work. A coach must have many peculiarities to be able to emerge; among the main ones, I believe that he must have the ability to immerse himself well in the reality in which he finds himself, to adapt his own style, to interpret a volleyball that is perhaps different from the one he considers ideal in order to be able to get the most out of the team he coaches. I’m back from two seasons in Cisterna with a very different group from the one I’ll find in the gym in August, because Itas Trentino comes from the splendid victory of the Scudetto and deserves me to be the first to try to figure out how to put myself at the service of team to get the best results. I’m not used to leading a team that will have such a busy calendar of commitments between national and international events, but it’s certainly a very stimulating novelty for me. Doing it with players who have already won a lot and experienced many great experiences will however be an advantage and a continuous stimulus to improve myself and improve together”.
“In its long history at the highest level, Trentino Volley has never been a club that often changes coaches – underlined the President Bruno Da Re during the presentation – ; thanking Angelo Lorenzetti again for the excellent work he has done over the last seven years, today we welcome Fabio Soli. He is a young coach, who has gained great experience both in the Italian SuperLega and in the international arena. We signed a two-year contract with him but, as happened in the past, I hope this is just the beginning of a long collaboration; we will give him a tested team, he will find a very young but already consolidated group.
