For the first year, Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza has opened a guesthouse to house young players who arrive from outside Piacenza. Kids who have lived away from their families for several months and who have studied here in Piacenza as well as playing.

E Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza together with the educational services team of the Research Association has given life in recent months to a project, #ace listening-comparison-experience, aimed precisely at athletes in the youth sector residing in guesthouses. A project that ended after four meetings, one a month, conducted by the sports psychologist, Dr. Michele Bisagni.

The theme of the first meeting was “What do I need?”: dedicated to mutual knowledge with the collection of needs and desires on the part of the athletes, also with reference to life in the guesthouse and the autonomy required, as well as expectations regarding the current season and the project in question.

The second meeting dealt with the theme “My best version”: building an individualized profile, identifying the characteristics of the ideal person and athlete, for each of the participants, with the sharing of strategies for planning goals.

The theme of the third meeting was “Effective communication”: in-depth analysis of the fundamental rules of communication, especially assertive communication, avoiding passivity and aggression in the relationship between teammates and towards the coach.

The fourth and final meeting, which concluded the project, dealt with the theme “The strength of the group”: sharing of strategies that can facilitate the development of cohesion and collaboration within the guesthouse and in the various team groups, in a cooperative perspective.

At each meeting, which aroused particular interest in the children involved, an interactive methodology was used, through questionnaires, group work and the use of multimedia elements. All with the aim of transferring to each boy, the real protagonist of the project, the fundamental rules of communication with classmates and the strength of the group with a view to sharing strategies and objectives.
