The father coach in Greece, the son player in… “Magna Grecia”: apart from the joke to say that he is “son of art”, the new Libero of Omifer Palmi, Ludovico Giuliani, certainly presents himself alone, Calabria and volleyball have known it well since elementary school. In fact, he was just 8 years old when his father Alberto, current Olimpiakos coach, took over the reins of Volley Corigliano and led it to Serie A1, a historic promotion.

It was inevitable that Ludovico approached the “family” sport from a very young age, starting at just 5 years old with Loreto! But the real career of the young athlete from the Marche region – he was born in San Severino, in the Macerata area – began in his hometown as a spiker, competing in championships from the First Division to Serie D. Born in 1998, at the age of 19 he even made his debut in the Superlega with Piacenza, changing his role to that of Libero: the best debut could not come, given that on the first day he deserves the recognition of mvp by conquering the palm of man of the match. In the following season, 2018-19, he wore the Blu Volley Verona shirt, same division. A difficult year with the Scala, due to a bad knee injury which, today, fortunately, is only a distant memory. In the 2019-20 year he married Corigliano Rossano Volley (A3) and then returned to the Superlega, for the 2020-21 championship, signed by Porto Robur Costa of Ravenna. Finally, in the following two seasons, he will be on stage in Pineto, in the province of Teramo, always in A3, conquering his first two titles with the Abruzzo club: the Italian Cup in his category and the Super Cup.

Now, in Palmi, it will only be necessary to try to do better… “I chose OmiFer – says Giuliani – for three reasons: because I have already been to Calabria and it is very comfortable: I have great relationships with the city of Corigliano and with all region, in fact, when I can, I always come here. The second reason, because there was great interest in me both from the club and, above all, from the coach: I know that a very competitive team has been built with which we can do well.” Finally… listening to Ludovico’s words one would jokingly say: Matteo Paris sent me… “this year he finished, he was with you – recalls the young volleyball player from the Marches – and he spoke very well of the club, it was a reason more to come down”.
