The new Serie A3 Credem Banca championship for Macerata Volleyball will officially begin on 15 October, which will host Just British Bari at the Banca Macerata Forum. Lots of news around the red and white team, starting with the challenges that await it: this year, in fact, Macerata has been included in the Blue Group and will have the formations of Southern Italy as opponents. The other innovations, on the other hand, concern the technical guide, entrusted to coach Maurizio Castellano, and the roster, extensively renewed but which has kept the level of competitiveness high.

Volleyball Macerata also for this season starts again from some certainties, above all the libero Simone Gabbanelli, one of the best interpreters of the role in the category and pillar of the red and white team. With him Gabriele Sanfilippo, the Sicilian centre-back has recovered from last year’s injury and starts again with renewed enthusiasm and desire to become a protagonist in the new Volleyball Macerata; while Jacopo Ravellino continues his growth path, second free in his third season in red and white.

Three well-known faces also among the arrivals this summer: the spiker Enrico Lazzaretto, was also in Macerata in the second half of last season, by now he knows the environment and is a player of sure performance; Mitja Pahor, another spiker, and the setter Luca Scrollavezza, represent two returns to the red and white, with an increased wealth of experience that will allow them to make a new contribution to the team.

The novelties then involve all roles, starting from the attack: Nicolò Casaro is the new opposite, he arrives from Catania with great expectations; the Argentine Luciano Zornetta, spiker with a long career, lived the last two seasons in Sabaudia; then two young prospects, Gaetano Penna, taken from Lube Civitanova, and Davide D’Amato, who grew up in Cuneo but played in Palmi in the last championship. In the center came Michele Orazi, from Macerata doc, last season in Bologna, and Bara Fall, who last year showed his qualities as an opponent of Volleyball Macerata in Parma. Finally, the direction, which for the 2023/2024 season has been entrusted to setter Sebastiano Marsili, who arrived from Palmi but with various experiences behind him.
