Serie A3 Credem Banca playoffs take off tonight with the first matches valid for the round of 16. And, at Da Rold Logistics Belluno, there is no lack of regret for having remained on the sidelines of the post season.

But, at the same time, the rhinos are called upon to analyze what worked well, and not so well, during the season. To then start again with renewed ambitions in the 2023-2024 vintage.

In this sense, service undoubtedly emerges among the “plus” signs. It’s true, the fundamental wasn’t always interpreted with the necessary continuity, but overall the DRL proved to be one of the most effective teams from the nine-metre line. The numbers say it too.

Because Marco Novello and his companions, in the special ranking of aces, finished in the top ten. And, precisely, in eighth position: 135 winning shots in 26 games played, for an average of 1.32 per partial. If, on the other hand, we take into consideration the relationship between aces and sets, coach Gian Luca Colussi’s collective would be tenth.

Novello’s name was not mentioned by chance, given that the opposite who grew up in Volley Treviso, and arrived from Tinet Prata of Pordenone, closed his year in third place overall in terms of packaged aces: a good 49. A fact that raises him to the best Italian in all of Serie A3 (arm in arm with Nicola Canciotta, who however is part of the blue group and wears Casarano’s shirt). Only Christoph Marks (German striker from Vigilar Fano) and Pawel Stabrawa (Polish under OmiFer Palmi) have scored a higher number of aces, compared to Marco: one of the great protagonists of the Bellunese journey.
