Find in the strong setter Davide Pellegrino the last precious confirmation of Omifer Palmi, a company that is renewing a large part of the team’s roster, reinforcing it around the names of captain Gitto, Pawel Stabrawa, Peppino Carbone and, precisely, Pellegrino, to aim to ambitious goals in the next season, under the guidance of coach Giancarlo “Gianco” D’amico.

Born in 1994, originally from Foggia, the player, 193 cm tall, has long been considered a real “enfant prodige” of Italian volleyball. Pellegrino started playing volleyball in Avis Villa Igeo, before being discovered by Materdomini Volley in Castellana Grotte. With this team, he had the opportunity to grow in the youth sector and make his debut in the first team, obtaining two consecutive promotions from B2 to B1 up to Serie A2. In 2011, he was included in the squad of the pre-junior Italian national team, coached by Mario Barbiero, further recognition of his talent and commitment. His debut in the top Italian championship took place in the 2014-15 Serie A1, wearing the Latina Top Volley shirt. Subsequently, he played in Serie A2 with Pallavolo Azzurra Alessano in the 2015-16 season and with Junior Volley Civita Castellana in the following season. In 2017-18 he played in Serie B with Libellula Fulgor Tricase (Le). Back to the A1 fields with Prisma Taranto, in November 2021 he joined Omifer Palmi (A3).

After signing the agreement, Pellegrino expressed his satisfaction with the decision, praising the club, teammates and fans.
“Certainly, – he highlighted – I’ve never had any doubts about wanting to renew with Omifer because I’ve always felt comfortable here. Since I arrived at the end of 2021, I immediately got along well with the members of the club and with the teammates I’ve had in these two seasons: they’ve always made me feel at home, so I’ve been sure of my choice from the first moment”.
The setter from Foggia highlighted his faith in the team and in the club’s ambitions for the future: “starting next season – he remarked – I expect progress, also because last year we went out in the first round of the play-offs, and an ambitious company like that of “Franco Tigano” certainly aims to do better. This year, in addition to the reconfirmations, I know that some important acquisitions have been made, so we hope to reach further and further goals”.
