The start of the 2023/2024 season is approaching, but the organizational machine of Pool Libertas Cantù has never stopped. Working “behind the scenes”, in fact, there is a whole sporting year to plan. It starts from the shirt numbers, which are assigned to the athletes every year, and worn by them on their shoulders throughout the season.
This year, however, there is something new: the substitution system changes, which will no longer be carried out using the classic “spade”, but with the tablet system. Children are therefore allowed to choose a number between 1 and 99, and not “stop” at the classic 18.
THE CONFIRMATIONS – We start with the players who have been confirmed for their second (or, in some cases, beyond) championship in the shadow of the bell tower of San Paolo. Obviously Captain Dario Monguzzi could not fail to keep “his” 3, as Luca Butti did with 4. Giuseppe Ottaviani and Jonas Aguenier also keep 6 and 7 respectively, as does Matteo Picchio, “very faithful” to his 17. Instead, Francesco Gianotti and Kristian Gamba change: the opposite passes to 32, while the 5 is taken by the setter from Monza.
NEW ARRIVALS – Matteo Pedron leaves the 7 that accompanied him for the last seven seasons, and will wear the 9. Redi Bakiri chooses the 22, while Gianluca Rossi will play with the 23 instead of “his” 11. Lorenzo Magliano will have the 2 , his team mate Andrea Bacco on the 16th, and Francesco Quagliozzi on the 10th.
