Born in 2003, 193 cm, from Legnago, in the Verona hinterland, Riccardo Gatto is a versatile player, capable of playing multiple roles. And it is a new resource available to coach Michele Bulleri and Kemas Lamipel 2.0. Recruited by Kioene Padova at a very young age, in the role of a band spiker, he experiments in the role of central defender (playing the role at the Trofeo delle Regioni), to then move on to zone 2 and play opposite the Under 16 national finals. At the Under 19 age he is entered in the B series by Kioene, again as the opposite, showing off as a great jumper, in possession of “heavy” shots for the category. Brescia realizes it, and in the past season inserts him in the roster available to coach Zambonardi. Newcomer in A2 Credem Banca, he doesn’t find much space but takes home 29 points overall (26 in attack) thus starting his career in the category.

In Kemas Lamipel will play the opposite role, paired with Lawrence, but he will be trained in reception and will certainly be able to lend a hand as a hitter in place four. A talented athlete, physically strong and always “charged” competitively, an ideal characteristic for those called to wear the glorious Wolves shirt.

So coach Bulleri during the presentation: “Interesting young man, he didn’t find much space in Brescia but in my opinion he will be an important pawn. He made a good impression on me when I met him, he seemed available, serious and motivated, just what it takes to fit into a professional team group. We will see if he will be able to make that further leap in quality he is looking for and which we all hope he will be able to do already this year”.

“I evaluate the last season well from the point of view of personal improvement, both in terms of technical qualities and as an athlete in himself. I got along very well with the team group. I didn’t have much space on the pitch but it was still a great experience.”

“What convinced me was the team’s project but above all the presentation given to me by the D.S. Pagliai: he described Santa Croce to me as an environment where you work a lot and give space on the pitch to demonstrate the contribution you can make to the team.”

“From next season I expect a lot of technical work and a good team group also given the fact that many players are young players of the same age. I’m just saying to the fans that I’m waiting for them in the Palazzetto in large numbers and with a loud voice to cheer us on”
