Cisterna Volley begins a series of matches in Piacenza which will lead the Pontini team to play close and, on paper, rather complicated matches. We start from the midweek round which will see coach Guillermo Falasca’s team take to the pitch tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8.30pm on the Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza pitch live on Rai Sport. In the Super League rankings the Piacenza team are currently in fourth position with 9 points, one less than Perugia, while Cisternè is seventh with five points, the last of which was taken away in Padua where Saitta and his teammates recovered from the deficit of two sets and then surrendered, after having put the match back in balance (2-2), only in the tie-break. In the ranking of points scored, Frenchman Theo Faure dropped to third place (with 78 points) behind Esmaeilnezhad (Verona, 85 points) and Mozic (Verona, 81).

«We are coming from a long and hard-fought match and we must continue to play openly, I would say even without too much pressure in this case, always trying to add one more brick to our growth path – clarifies Alessandro Piccinelli, libero of Cisterna Volley – We are facing a top-tier team, a team that has considerable potential with athletes who play in their respective national teams, a very confident team that focuses on attack and serve, they will certainly put a lot of pressure on us and we will have to try to play our game with the goal of trying to prolong the match as much as possible.”

Piacenza is currently in third place in the Super League in terms of number of winning serves (24), behind Monza (37) and Trento (30), while Cisterna is currently in ninth position (17) in this special ranking while the Pontini are in fourth place in the statistics of winning blocks: Cisterna blocks 40, after Verona (49), Trento (43) and Monza (41).

«We have the means to have our say and we will have to pay a lot of attention to the approach to the match, of course we will face a very difficult opponent, with very great players and it won’t be easy, but we have to think about ourselves and therefore we have to express the best possible game right from the start because we saw that the approach is very important – added Daniele Mazzone, Cisterna centre-back – we saw that in some matches we were better, in others less, as chance would have it, those in which we were less The tests away from home were good and with Piacenza we have the opportunity to test ourselves both against a great team and in an away match.”
