The Tonno Callipo Vibo Valentia also conquers the Del Monte® Supercoppa A2, second trophy of the season after the success in Del Monte® Coppa Italia A2, with a victory of heart and determination. A net 3-0 (the partials 25–16, 25–17, 25–21) against the Lombards of the Pool Libertas Cantù who, especially in the third set, fought vehemently in an attempt to reopen the contest but crashed in the final under the inexorable blows of the Austrian Paul Buchegger, author of 23 points overall with an exceptional 71% on 28 overall attacks with a block and two aces, who grounded the decisive ball for the victory. The yellow and red opposition was awarded the Del Monte® MVP award as happened in the final of the Del Monte® Italian Cup in the category against Castellana Grotte last February 4th. As for the other individuals, the nine points each scored by Terpin (third A2 Super Cup for him, 1 ace and 2 blocks) and the vice-captain Candellaro (3 winning blocks), while the Serbian Mijailovic finished at 8 points. In the Lombard formation, the opposite Gamba stands out, the last of the Canturini to surrender, author of 14 points.
In the roll of honor of the Del Monte Supercoppa A2, now in its third edition, Tonno Callipo succeeds Agnelli Tipiesse Bergamo who had won the first two editions, overcoming Taranto away (2021) and Conad Reggio Emilia (2022) respectively. In both circumstances at the end of four partials.
The trophy was handed over to captain Santiago Orduna by the President of the Calabria Regional Committee, Carmelo Sestito, while the medals to the players by the Deputy Director of the Serie A Volleyball League, Yvonne Schlesinger and the Regional Councilor for Economic Development, Rosario Varì.

Jernej Terpin (Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia): “We won’t stop here, let’s try to win the Play Offs too. It’s a good victory, in front of a good crowd. At home we hit well, when the balls start to come off it becomes more complicated for the opponents. It’s nice to play volleyball, play fast, create something fun, and it shows that we have fun and win. Buchegger is out of category, he’s too strong and gives us a huge hand especially on hot balls. We are happy. The thermometer is the defense, you evaluate how much you want to win”.
Jonas Aguenier (Pool Libertas Cantù): “Unfortunately we didn’t play a good match, what we showed in the last period was something else. They played very well, blocking, serving but it wasn’t the best Vibo we’ve seen this season. I hope for the Play Offs we can reset and go back to being the real Cantù. We have to work, we have little time. You can’t win if you make more than 10 mistakes in a set. Volleyball is a game of mistakes, whoever makes the least wins. We were tense, for many it was the first final. Let’s hope there won’t be any repercussions for the Play Offs.”
