Belluno Volley is preparing for the first trip of the new calendar year: on Sunday 14th (6pm), the rhinos will be involved in the Emilian trip to Mirandola, where the Stadium awaits Andrea De Col and his teammates, third from last in the ranking and making its debut in this 2024. Because last weekend he didn’t take the field against Brugherio (match postponed due to the coincidence with the Wevza Tournament). The central defender from Belluno warns: «Let’s not look at the numbers, Mirandola knows how to play volleyball. And good too. It is necessary to be aggressive and impose our rhythms in front of a sextet who will interpret the match with the spirit of those who have nothing to lose.”

GIVING AND RECEIVING – De Col sees an evolving group: «We are growing from a technical and tactical point of view. As in any journey, there are moments of “up” and others of “down”. But we have reached important peaks. And it is precisely on those peaks that we must continuously stand: we work for this.” The twenty-year-old, fresh from a year in Macerata, is an integral part of the rotation: «The individual must make himself available to the collective, it is a continuous giving and receiving. Here, moreover, I am lucky enough to be in a splendid collective: every day I learn something. In this regard, I knew I had some gaps and, in Belluno Volley, I found a club that allowed me to fill them.”

THE BOTTOM – After the Venetian derby lost in Motta di Livenza, the blue and whites achieved two successes in a row, with Cus Cagliari and Moyashi Garlasco: «We hit rock bottom in Motta, but we immediately recovered. And our desire to win took over. Even in the face of difficulties and defeats, what matters is not to get lost in negative thoughts. Or there is the risk of sinking.” De Col is bewitched by the public who populate the Viale dei Dendrofori venue: «The Spes Arena factor has a huge impact. Our fans encourage us, give strength and, at the same time, instill fear in our opponents. When you have more than five hundred people pushing from behind, everything becomes less complicated.”

INTENSITY – The 203 centimeter center back opens up to 2024 with important assumptions: «I want to continue on this line of work and, at the same time, increase the intensity. There are countless goals and I have the determination to achieve them. In general, I’m trying to experience each phase with profound serenity. And to be as positive and proactive as possible. Because such an attitude has beneficial effects on volleyball. I will continue to work on myself. And to push even more from a technical point of view.”
