Belluno Volleyball is growing. And, consequently, the performers of a group that has just archived the third success in a row and managed to reach the podium in the Serie A3 Credem Banca championship are also growing: now, moreover, the victories (12) are double in number compared to defeats (6). Without considering that, in 2024, there was only one missed passage: in Mirandola.

CHAMPIONSHIP SEPARATELY – But the rhinoceros is a flightless animal. On the contrary, he keeps his feet – or rather, his paws – firmly on the ground. As does libero Simone Orto: «I don’t know if the path taken is the right one, I only know that the three consecutive victories give us morale and that, little by little, we are becoming more and more of a team. Because now we unite even in times of difficulty. However, we must think about improving ourselves further to be ready for the decisive challenges: the playoffs, as is known, are a separate championship, in which anything can happen.”

LESSON – The nineteen-year-old originally from Catania, who blossomed from a volleyball point of view in Ravenna, is not thrilled with his current placement: «Actually I would have hoped to fight for first place, but unfortunately we missed out on some matches. But the missteps served as a lesson. We will have to continue to give everything in training and then the fruits of our work will also be seen in the match.” Orto shows great solidity: in reception. And in defence: «The growth process continues well, thanks to the coaches I feel I have improved in some fundamentals. There are no moments, as for every young person, but over time I have managed to limit them. This is why I would like to thank the staff for their support.”

TOUGH AWAY – Meanwhile, the away match against the young and talented Diavoli Rosa is scheduled for Sunday 18th (4pm): «It will be a tough match, many “big” teams have lost points in Brugherio. We will find a tough environment and a team full of guys who, when things go well, get excited. Consequently, we will have to start at our best and impose our game straight away: it is necessary to put Gamma Chimica in difficulty when serving and try to limit the opponent’s serve, which is truly insidious.”

AT THE FINISH – In view of the decisive phase of the season, Orto has clear ideas: «On a personal level, I want to gain greater confidence on the pitch, while thinking as a team the hope is to get to the end. But let’s not look too far ahead: when you go to the net with a free mind, without thinking about anything, you play more calmly. It’s better”.
