A Cuneo native in the shadow of the bell tower of San Paolo. Luca Chiapello, a spiker born in 2002, has already faced Campi Reali Cantù several times as an opponent. He’s an experienced player in the third national division, having played there several times despite his young age, especially in the last two years with Sarlux Sarroch and BCC Tecbus Castellana Grotte.
Coach Tommaso Invernici commented on the new addition: “We chose Luca because he’s a player with balance and substance, and he’s already had the opportunity to play alongside Nicolò Hoffer and Andrea Argenta. I’m sure he’ll find a way to express himself to the fullest and will be a driving force for the younger players.”
These are the player’s words: “I’m very happy to be joining Cantù: it’s an ideal situation for me. First of all, because it’s a league I know quite well by now; secondly, because I already know many of my teammates, and I’m happy with the team we’ve assembled. Next season, we’ll definitely have to fight hard, because that’s what we can do right now, but in my opinion, as I saw again this year in Castellana Grotte, with good team chemistry, we can build a great championship, regardless of the players, their ages, or the years they’ve played together. I’m confident. On a personal level, however, I haven’t set any specific goals. After the last few championships, I’ve seen that, more than on a personal level, you need to set common goals: we play the quintessential team sport, so if the team does well, you do well. If you have a united group, you can train in a certain way, and you can always perform at your best every day. So, no personal goals, definitely more team goals.”
