A delegation from Tinet Prata made a prestigious trip to Trieste, receiving the seal of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Council today. President Vecchies, the Board of Directors, Sporting Director Luciano Sturam, Secretary Carlo Carra, Assistant Coach Nicola Baldon, and a delegation of players led by Trieste natives Katalan and Umek were first welcomed at the historic Società Triestina della Vela and then headed to Piazza Oberdan, the seat of the regional council.
There, they were received by Regional Council President Mauro Bordin, who, after congratulating the players, management, and staff, presented the Seal of the Regional Council to Tinet Prata President Maurizio Vecchies in the Legislative Assembly Hall.
“Besides congratulating you,” said Bordin, “I want to thank you for your accomplishment. It’s a source of pride for our region to have two volleyball teams in the top division, in the next championship, both for men and women: in addition to you, the Talmassons Board of Directors. Two organizations that have grown over time, not in large cities, and have achieved unimaginable sporting results by following a small-step strategy.”
“You,” observed the president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Council, “are also a source of pride for the visibility you give our region throughout the country. I’m not just talking about sport, but also about economic recognition: sport is also economic.”
“My invitation,” continued Bordin, “is to face the challenges of moving up a division with the knowledge that the institutions are behind you, and I invite you to consolidate the results you’ve achieved, knowing that you have a significant responsibility: beyond managing the team, that of representing an entire region.”
