Riccardo Copelli is the first newcomer to Pineto Volley in the 2026/27 season. The middle blocker, originally from Casalmaggiore, Lombardy, is the signing that kicks off the transfer window following the official return of Cezar Douglas Silva to the bench and the previously announced confirmations of captain Paolo Di Silvestre and setter Mattia Catone.
Born in 1996 and 1.98 meters tall, he’s ready to serve Pineto. Riccardo Copelli arrives on the Adriatic coast after his Superleague experience with Cuneo.
Used as a rotation player during his season in Piedmont (25 total points), Pineto’s new middle blocker has had some impressive seasons in Serie A2 Credem Banca behind him. Among these, he finished two seasons surpassing the 300-point mark with Siena (361) and Bergamo (339); His most recent experience in the second division was in 2024/25 with Consar Ravenna, a season in which he scored 246 points (284 in attack and 45 blocks). He’s also brought experience to the Pineto club: the new center back’s list also includes Coppa Italia and playoff victories with Gas Sales Piacenza in 2019.
Riccardo Copelli’s first words in the blue and whites: “I’m very happy with my arrival in Pineto, mainly for two main reasons. The first is that I wanted to get back to playing, to feel like a key player, and I think the right category was A2, where I spent most of my career and where I achieved, I think, quite good things. And then I think Pineto, at the same time, was the right place for this—so to speak—personal goal of mine. At the same time, I don’t really like talking about individuals, but I’d rather focus on the team. I know that compared to last year, which was a historic year for Pineto, there will be some changes, and I think that we, as a new group, must first and foremost become a team with an identity recognizable by the fans as soon as possible, because this year they were dealing with a group that did excellent things, and I think the atmosphere has also been greatly energized.
