It will be a top-ranking match between Ravenna and Siena which will take place on Sunday 11 February starting at 6pm. Since the beginning of the tournament, Consar has been one of the teams considered among the favorites to win the championship and for promotion to Super alloy. At the moment, however, the ranking sees Emma Villas Siena in third place in the ranking with 40 points and Consar Ravenna immediately below, fourth in the ranking, with 39 points. However, Ravenna has so far achieved one more victory than the Sienese: 14 for Consar against 13 for Emma Villas.

In the last tournament of the championship, coach Gianluca Graziosi’s team lost at home in a tiebreak against Brescia at the end of a hard-fought match. The Sienese had taken a 2-1 lead and were also ahead in the score halfway through the fourth set before suffering a comeback from Consoli Sferc. Krauchuk’s 26 points and Pierotti and Trillini’s 14 each were not enough to achieve another success. In this way the long streak of seven victories in a row by the Sienese was interrupted.

Ravenna for its part overtook Ortona quite easily. The final result awarded Consar 3-0, and the scores of the three sets were significant: 25-17, 25-21, 25-18 in a match that lasted an hour and 17 minutes. Ravenna was therefore ahead for practically the entire match. Alessandro Bovolenta’s performance was very good (statistics say that up to now he is the sixth best scorer in the A2 championship), scoring 20 points on the occasion and with 56% in attack; Mattia Orioli’s contribution was also significant, 14 points with 55% in attack for him. Consar’s number of winning blocks was very high: 13 in just three sets against Ortona, and 6 of these were signed by Stefano Mengozzi.

In the six days of the return round played so far, Ravenna has achieved five victories, losing only at home against Cuneo: it was the second day of the return round. Consar won on a tiebreak in Porto Viro, then in Cantù, at home against Santa Croce sull’Arno (3-0 success with 19 points from Bovolenta and 11 from Orioli). And the victory obtained by the Ravenna team in the tiebreak in Brescia after a sporting battle lasting 2 hours and 22 minutes was also very precious and important. On this occasion, four Consar players scored double figures: Alessandro Bovolenta scored 27 points, Mattia Orioli scored 17, Stefano Mengozzi 15 and Filippo Bartolucci 13.
