The Final Eight of the Del Monte® Boy League 2024 starts on Friday 24 May in Fano (province of Pesaro Urbino), which returns to the calendar after five years of absence. Among the participants in the final phase of the event, reserved for Under 14 teams and organized since 1996 by the Men’s Serie A Volleyball League, there will also be Trentino Volley for the tenth time in its history – the last club to boast of winning the competition having triumphed in 2019 in the then Final in Castelnovo ne’ Monti (Reggio Emilia) and previously finished among the top four on six occasions.
The team coached by Matteo Zingaro will take part with a squad composed mostly of players who have played in the Under 15 regional championship (finished in second place), with the addition of some elements of clubs with which a long-standing relationship has been established collaborative relationship, such as STS Bolzano and Lagaris (in the province) and Academy Volley Palo Alto California (which will allow us to have the son of art Gabriele Desiderio on the staff). With behind us the victories obtained in 2010 (with Simone Giannelli protagonist on the pitch) and 2019 (with Alessandro Bristot best scorer), the second place in 2018, the third place in the 2012 and 2014 editions, the fourth places between 2013, 2015 and 2017 and the seventh in 2016, the company from via Trener in the Marche region will be hunting for another notable result in a particularly prestigious competition. The other teams that will take part in the event, competing for the 25th Enrico Bazan Cup, are in fact Civitanova, Ravenna, Cuneo, Brugherio, Padua, Perugia and Modena and, like the yellow-blues, they obtained qualification by winning the preliminary phase. The eight teams will be divided into two groups of four in the first phase, which will take place from Friday 24th to Saturday 25th May. Itas Trentino has been included in Pool E, which includes Cuneo, Ravenna and Civitanova, teams that they will face respectively on Friday at 7.30 pm, Saturday at 9.30 am and at 5 pm. To gain a place among the top four in Italy, they will therefore need to rank at least in second position in their group; semi-finals and finals will be played on Sunday 26 May.
