Emma Villas Siena continues its training in view of the playoff semi-final series. All while waiting to find out who will be the opposing team of the Sienese, who will be the team that will win game 3 (scheduled for Monday evening) of the quarter-final series between Cuneo and Porto Viro.

The first match of the semi-finals will be Thursday 11 April: it remains to be established where the match will be played. If the opponent is Cuneo, game 1 will be played in Piedmont (and in that case game 2 would be played in Siena on Sunday 14 April), if the opponent is Porto Viro the first game of the series will be at PalaEstra.

“We played a great match in Brescia – declared Emma Villas Siena centre-back Stefano Trillini. – We started very well, then we became a little disunited and Brescia was very good in the third, fourth set and also at the beginning of the tiebreak. But we stayed there with our heads and managed to recover. It was a match that was worth a lot, given that it allowed us to qualify for the semi-finals of the playoffs. It was a truly exciting challenge, now let’s think about the semi-finals.”

“We are playing good volleyball, we had shown it since the last matches of the regular season – states Trillini again. – In Brescia we faced a really strong opponent, so I am very happy with how we played that match. Now we have to work as hard as we can to reach the semi-finals in even better conditions. In these playoffs we are seeing a lot of balance, we expected it. At this moment every team gives their all, so it’s normal to see good races. I really liked the game we managed to express in the two quarter-final matches, in Brescia we showed character and in these matches the most important thing is to win and bring home the result. When we were trailing 8-2 in the tiebreak we were good at focusing on both the technical and tactical aspects, we managed to do what we know how to do by hitting breaks and carrying out some good rounds of serve.”
