The President of the Serie A Volleyball League Massimo Righi, personally and on behalf of all the League clubs, firmly condemns the episode of discrimination that occurred during the championship match on 25 February 2024 between Consar Ravenna and Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina and expresses its closeness to the athlete Martins Arasomwan, victim of despicable racist insults by individuals who do not deserve access to sports facilities which, as is known, have always been places of aggregation and promotion of the noblest values of the sport. The pride of belonging to a sports sector in which similar vulgar behavior has never found space must not, however, lead us to minimize what happened but, on the contrary, encourage us to defend in a determined manner the specificity of our sport, through the introduction , in agreement with the Federation, of further provisions suitable to prevent the recurrence of such episodes.
