The Emilia-Romagna National Olympic Committee (CONI) recently awarded medals for athletic merit for 2023 in Ravenna to 255 male and female athletes who achieved outstanding results in national, European, and world championships.
Among the honorees was Alessandro Bovolenta, who, on the stage of Ravenna’s Teatro Alighieri, in front of over four hundred people, received the CONI bronze medal for athletic merit for his second-place finish with the Italian national volleyball team at the 2023 European Championship, won by Poland.
And in 2023, Alessandro Bovolenta earned his first call-ups to the senior national team after playing for the youth national teams. His official debut was against Belgium during the European Championship, where he scored the final point that sealed Italy’s 3-0 victory.
Alessandro Bovolenta: “Receiving recognition in the city where I began playing at the highest level and where I lived for so many years is simply a great satisfaction. I thank CONI for this recognition.”
