Beppe Cormio (dg A.S. Volley Lube):

“The start of the event has given us confirmation of the validity of our guys, with some of them immediately standing out. I think of Giovanni Gargiulo with the Italian National Team. Our middle blocker is going towards confirmations from match to match and is opening the way towards a concrete chance of being called up for the World Cup. He is a growing guy who is showing his qualities. As well as the spiker Mattia Bottolo, who has shown his numbers even if he has lacked a bit of continuity after the period in which he was stopped, something that had not happened to him in the Super League. The setter Mattia Boninfante continues his growth path and it seems to me that he has been able to keep the team in hand by distributing the game adequately, even if on the court in a complicated phase. The spiker Poriya Hossein Khanzadeh did well with Iran, who needs to play, but when he is given the opportunity he is very interesting, not only in serving and in attack. Also very good was the spiker Alex Nikolov, always the best in Bulgaria and able to score many points by playing on impossible balls, which he likes and knows how to close very well. His growth is evident in these first matches paired with his brother Simeon. I would also like to mention the international debut for the very young Noa Duflos-Rossi, who we have just bought and who we don’t know very well yet.
