Alessandro Bovolenta, opposite hitter for Gas Sales Bluenergy Volley Piacenza, will be working with the Italian National Team in Cavalese in the province of Trento starting Monday, May 12.

The red and white opposite hitter was called up by CT Ferdinando De Giorgi along with sixteen other players to the first training camp that will start on Monday, May 12 and end on Sunday, May 18 after the morning training.

Gianluca Galassi and Yuri Romanò, both included in the list of 30 players eligible for the VNL, have been granted a few more weeks of rest.

The season of the men’s national team officially begins with the training camp in Cavalese. After the presentation of the Italian national team season, which took place last May 6 in Milan, the word passes to the field with the first training camp of the season. In this period, the Italian national team, reigning world champion, will work in Val di Fiemme to best prepare for the first seasonal event: the Volleyball Nations League 2025.

Before flying to Canada for the first week of VNL (Quebec City, June 11-15), the Azzurri will be involved in three friendlies: Sunday 25 May at 4 pm in Munich where they will face Germany, Friday 30 May at 4 pm in Cavalese with Iran and finally Saturday 31 May in Padua at 6:30 pm in the BPER Test Match again with Iran.
