Cisterna Volley enjoyed a successful opening match in the sixth round of the SuperLega Credem Banca Regular Season. At the Opiquad Arena, home of Vero Volley Monza, the Pontine side initially took a set lead, but then suffered a comeback from the home team, who took the match to a tie-break. However, Daniele Morato’s men prevailed, thanks in part to the performance of Tommaso Guzzo, MVP and top scorer with 23 points. Erik Rohrs also scored more than 20 points, finishing with 21 total. With this result, Cisterna now draws level with Monza in the standings with four points. In the match that closes Saturday night’s SuperLega season, Itas Trentino returns to victory after two consecutive losses: at the Palasport in Cuneo, MA Acqua S. Bernardo won the first set, but was forced to succumb to a comeback by the Dolomites, who managed to secure the victory in four sets. Among the protagonists, in front of the nearly 4,000 spectators present at the arena, was Alessandro Michieletto (named MVP of the match), who finished with a total of 21 points. Following him, for Trento, were Jordi Ramon – who scored the point that closed the match – and Theo Faure, who each scored 15 points. For Cuneo, double-digit scores were achieved by Nathan Feral (18), Marko Sedlacek (15) and Ivan Zaytsev (12).
