After the exciting series of the Play Off Scudetto against Itas Trentino, Cisterna Volley is ready to return to the field in its fortress of the Palasport in Viale delle Provincie on Sunday 6 April at 19:00. The single round begins that puts a place in the next CEV Challenge Cup up for grabs, with six teams ready to compete for the coveted European pass. The opening challenge sees the Pontini face Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina, an opponent already faced twice in the 2024/25 Regular Season. In previous seasonal matches, Cisterna Volley had the upper hand on both occasions: victory in four sets at PalaSavelli in the first leg, success in the tie-break in the return match at home.
The group led by coach Guillermo Falasca, eighth in the standings at the end of the regular season, demonstrated all its value in the Quarter Finals, managing to put the reigning European champions of Trento in difficulty.
Alessandro Fanizza (Cisterna Volley): “We are ready to face this new opportunity with determination and awareness, well aware of the importance of the challenge against Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina. The championship matches against them have always been hard-fought, but our goal is to start this new journey in the best possible way. Since the beginning of the season I feel like I have grown a lot here in Cisterna and, if I were given the opportunity, I will be ready to give my contribution, putting the fruits of the work and sacrifices made in the gym on the field.
