A notable absentee from the World Championships in the Philippines after having turned down a call-up from his hometown team, Canadian spiker Eric Loeppky is the star of the red and white team. The American athlete maintains a high level of training at Cucine Lube Civitanova, explains to fans the unique motivations that drove him to stay in the Marche region, and, in no uncertain terms, displays a mix of enthusiasm and optimism for the new season in the Credem Banca SuperLega with his club, which he believes is highly competitive.
You chose not to go to the World Cup to be with your family. Would you like to explain your reasons to the fans?
Eric Loeppky: “Of course! This is a really special moment in my life, and I want to stay close to my family because my third child is on the way. We’re very excited, especially because the birth is just a few days away. Canada and the World Cup are very important to me, but this was the right time to take a break and spend the wait with my better half!”
