Three seasons in the United States at CSUN, California State University of Northridge, with significant experience in the NCAA. And now the return to Italy for what will be his second experience in A3 after the 2020/21 season with Brugherio, a prologue to the A2 season in Cantù in 2021/22.
The twenty-four-year-old from Brianza Matteo Salvador is very enthusiastic about projecting himself into the third national tournament under the net with the EnergyTime Spike Devils Campobasso jersey.
«Being able to return to Italy after three tournaments in college was an additional stimulus, a reason for enthusiasm of no small importance. In America I had a truly significant experience that made me grow a lot, both humanly and in volleyball. For me it was in all respects an opportunity to open my eyes to different aspects in a unique educational framework. The NCAA, after all, has the great advantage of allowing you to experience the two aspects of study and sport at a high level. There is a totally different philosophy and way of understanding things. The teachers put the student athletes at ease and make sure that this is an absolute reference model”.
In Campobasso, Salvador arrives “certainly with curiosity because, just as I did when I went to the United States, I leave my comfort zone in another corner of Italy to understand how it will go”.
