The 2025 Men’s Volleyball World Championship continues unabated: the second day of the group stage took place yesterday and today.

Another high-level performance by Ahmed Ikhbayri, who confirmed his performance after scoring 17 points (fifteen on offense, one block, and one on serve) in his debut against Canada. The yellow-blue opposite hitter, despite losing to Turkey, was the top scorer with 19 points (sixteen on offense and three on block). The next match is tomorrow, at 3:30 pm, against Japan.

Victories, however, went to Argentina and Brazil, against South Korea and the Czech Republic respectively: Matias Giraudo remained on the bench, while Arthur Bento scored 11 points, all on offense. The two teams will return to action on Thursday, with Argentina facing France at 12:00 pm, and Brazil facing Serbia at 4:00 pm Italian time.

Finally, Simone Anzani and Luca Porro’s Italy lost 3-2 to Belgium: trailing 2-0, the comeback wasn’t enough to avoid their first defeat of the competition. Anzani, who started the game, earned six points (four in attack and two at blocking), and Porro, who came on as a substitute, earned one point (in attack). The Azzurri are back in action on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. against Ukraine in a crucial match to advance to the next round.
