Libero Alessandro Piccinelli has joined the new volleyball project born in Tuscany thanks to the joint venture between Siena and Santa Croce. The 28-year-old, who has six seasons in Perugia under his belt, is a new player for Emma Villas Codyeco Lupi Siena. He enthusiastically said yes to the Tuscan project, eager to showcase his skills on the taraflex.

Piccinelli is currently in Siena, arriving well before the team’s training camp. He did so with the intention of starting personal preparation even before the club’s official start of practice. A stroll through Piazza del Campo and a quick visit to the Fortezza Medicea: that’s how Piccinelli got in touch with Siena, one of the two clubs that will bring the new Tuscan volleyball project to life, along with Santa Croce sull’Arno.

“I believe in this new Tuscan project,” comments libero Alessandro Piccinelli. “For me, it’s very exciting to be here; this area is wonderful and offers so much. I’ve already started training, and I’ve made myself available to the coaching staff and the athletic trainer to get started. I already know Gabriele Nelli and Luigi Randazzo from our roster; I’ve faced them many times on the court; they were my opponents. I think our roster is a mix of experienced players and younger guys. There are many new players, so we’ll have to forge a team identity.”
