The first week of VNL 2025 ended with more than encouraging data for the six athletes of Cucine Lube Civitanova called up by their respective national teams.

With three victories and 8 points, Italy is currently in fourth place in the general ranking. The performances of the three cooks wanted by Coach Fefè De Giorgi in the Canadian stage contributed to the cause. Noteworthy were the performances of the rookie middle blocker Giovanni Gargiulo, who closed the parenthesis with 39 points scored, of which 25 in attack, 13 blocking and 1 from nine meters, jumping to second place in the general ranking of the most effective players in blocks, with an average of 3.25 per match. An alternating current week did not prevent Mattia Bottolo from scoring 32 points overall and making himself appreciated in the first and last match in Quebec, in the victories against Bulgaria and Argentina, or in the matches played entirely. Mattia Boninfante had a positive debut in the VNL, confirming his skills as a setter and his ability to manage the team in the remaining moments of the match, even in complicated phases, and taking the opportunity to score his first point in an official event with the Senior National Team.
