Massimo Righi, President of the Lega Pallavolo Serie A, and Emanuela Ferrante, Councilor for Sport and Equal Opportunities for the Municipality of Naples, placed the medals around the necks of the winning team, while the Captain of Romeo Sorrento, Stefano Patriarca, raised the trophy presented to him by Massimo Righi. Yvonne Schlesinger, Deputy Director of the Lega Pallavolo Serie A, awarded the Del Monte® MVP of the event, Calogero Tulone. The medals to Personal Time San Donà di Piave were presented by Massimo Righi and Michele Miccolis, Councilor of the Lega Pallavolo Serie A, while the plaque to the Captain of Personal Time San Donà di Piave, Stefano Giannotti, was presented by Luigi Saetta, Councilor Fipav. Antonella Di Cesare, Councilor Fipav, presented the referees with a memento of the event.
It is a historic double for Romeo Sorrento, who raises the Del Monte® Supercoppa Serie A3 to the sky, repeating the success obtained in the Coppa Italia: at the PalaVesuvio in Naples, location of the second seasonal event dedicated to A3, Nicola Esposito’s team gets the better of Personal Time San Donà di Piave in three sets, already an opponent in the Coppa Italia A3 Final in Longarone, in the province of Belluno. In front of almost 2,000 spectators at the Neapolitan facility, Patriarca and his teammates thus raise the Supercoppa to the sky, the second trophy added to the trophy cabinet in less than a month. The Del Monte® MVP of the match is Calogero Tulone, setter for Romeo Sorrento.
Applause also for Personal Time San Donà di Piave who, after having finished in first place in the White Group of Serie A3, was able to give the Sorrento giants a hard time, forced on several occasions during the match to chase and come back from the attacks of the Veneto club. Top scorers of the match were Stanislaw Wawrzynczyk and Nicolas Brucini, both authors of 15 points; in double figures, among the Campanians, also the middle blocker Francesco Fortes (10 points) and the opposite Andrea Baldi (11 seals).
