Negrini CTE Acqui Terme concludes its adventure in the Junior League, a tournament dedicated to the U20 teams of the Serie A teams, in sixth place.
After eliminating Diavoli Rosa Brugherio and Prata di Pordenone, the boys led by the duo Totire – Garra reached the final nine in Bologna.
The Terme team was placed in group C with Valsa Group Modena, against whom they were defeated 3-1 (25/13, 25/19, 23/25, 25/19) on Saturday 31 May and Kioene Padova, against whom they won 3-0 (25/20, 29/27, 25/17) on Sunday 1 June.
In the afternoon, the Acqui team, following the tie-breaking classification, played the final for fifth place, lost against Romeo Sorrento (16/25, 18/25, 25/18, 21/25).
Coaches Michele Totire and Luca Garra say: “A wonderful experience for the boys of Pallavolo La Bollente of Acqui Terme at the Del Monte Junior League, which took place in Bologna from May 31st to June 2nd. The white-blues performed excellently in a very high-level event, facing the most important clubs in Italy. In the first match we immediately met the battleship Modena, from whom we snatched an important set. This, combined with the beautiful 3-0 victory against Padova, allowed us to qualify for the 5th/6th place final, even if only the points quotient did not allow us to access the semifinals, which Itas Trentino instead reached.
