Allianz Milano secured a three-set victory in the first leg of the 2026 Challenge Cup Round of 16: playing on the court of Red Star Belgrade, the team coached by Roberto Piazza prevailed in just over an hour of play, thus securing their place in the next round.
Ichino stood out with 11 points, and Reggers, who finished with 20 goals, also scored. Recine, one of the key players of the evening, also scored 11 points. The Milanese blocking stood out (9 blocks in total for the Milanese team), with Milan never struggling throughout the match: the first and last sets were easily won by Kreling and his teammates, while in the second the home team attempted to apply more pressure, but without the desired results.
Allianz Milano therefore presents itself at next week’s match (January 27, 8:30 pm at the Allianz Cloud) with the possibility of securing the next round by winning at least two sets: before the European match, however, the Milanese will be competing this weekend in the SuperLega Credem Banca: the 18th round will see Milan at home against Cucine Lube Civitanova, with kick-off at 4:00 pm on Sunday, January 25 (live on DAZN and VBTV).
