Completing the spikers’ department is Treviso native Alberto Pol, who arrives in Prata after a career that saw him rise through the youth ranks with Volley Treviso, achieving enormous success with the Italian national team (U17 and U22 European Champion, U19 World Champion, 2023 Universiade), and then starting his senior career with Trento, Porto Viro, Ravenna, Motta, Castellana Grotte, and finally Sorrento, with whom he won everything in A3 two seasons ago and gave Tinet a run for his money last year. Born in 2001, the spiker is putting his 6’1″ (201 cm) to good use for the Gialloblù cause.
“I’m excited about this Super League,” an enthusiastic Pol tells us, “because for the first time I’ll be an integral part of the roster of a team participating in it. I want to enjoy the experience to the fullest.” He has clear ideas about the type of championship he’ll face. “Our main characteristic,” he maintains, “must be proactivity, without ever losing our smile and desire to work.”
How did you end up in Prata?
“I knew the club from having played against them back in Serie B. They’ve always been considered a super reliable, solid club with no financial problems. I don’t deny that this was also a favorable factor in accepting the offer made to me by Sporting Director Luciano Sturam.”
What kind of player is Alberto Pol?
“I’m not a player who relies on his physique as his strength. I consider myself a balanced player, and I believe my strengths lie in the fundamentals of the second line, but I’ll do everything I can to lend a hand to the team with whatever I need.”
