The third Emilian derby of the 2025/26 season smiled on Valsa Group Modena, who defeated Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza only in a tiebreaker. The 18th round of the SuperLega Credem Banca season thus opened with a marathon at the PalaPanini, won by the home team: Piacenza twice took a lead in the set count, but Modena, after tying the set count both times, stepped up to the plate in the fifth, the decisive set, taking home the victory.
The victory allowed Giuliani’s team to draw level with Modena in fourth place: both teams scored 36 points, with Valsa Group, however, ahead by virtue of a win.
Among the stars of the evening was Luca Porro, awarded MVP and scoring 15 points; in addition to the spiker, Vlad Davyskiba (12 points) and Paul Buchegger (18 points each) also scored in double figures. For Piacenza, Alessandro Bovolenta scored 20 points, while Mandiraci added 16 and Gutierrez 13.
The round continues tomorrow: among the scheduled matches, the big match between Sir Susa Scai Perugia and Itas Trentino, broadcast live on Rai from 6:00 PM.
