He is the second Argentine player (after setter Aloisi last season) to wear the green and white colors of Green Volley Galatone. A top-level professional, a truly valuable player with a highly effective attacking performance. Born in 1997, 194 cm tall and with a Portuguese passport, Felipe Benavídez boasts impressive reach, with an attacking height of 340 cm and a peak blocking height of 315 cm. He made his Argentine league debut in 2013/14 with Libertad Burgi and Obras de San Juan, and in 2015, as captain of the Argentina national team, he won second place at the Under-19 World Cup. He arrived in Europe in the Spanish SuperLiga in 2020, playing two seasons with Galician side Rotogal Boiro, before moving to French club Le Plessis-Robinson. Finally, at the end of the 2022 season, he completed the Lube roster following Juantorena’s injury. He made his official Italian league debut with Pineto in Serie A2 in 2023-24, before moving to Ravenna under coach Bonitta in a swap deal with Panciocco. Omifer Palmi in 2024-2025 and Siena in 2025-2026 were the next destinations until the major signing by Sports Director Imbriani, who, without concealing his pride and satisfaction, secured the services of the top player: “Green Volley’s growth and corporate ambitions depend on these decisions, which ensure our team’s technical depth. I’m confident that Benavidez will make a significant contribution to the group, offering all his talent, which our supporters will soon be able to admire.”
