The Block Devils departed this morning for the Czech Republic, where tomorrow, kicking off at 6:00 PM, they will take to the field for the fifth matchday of the Champions League group stage.
Tomorrow’s match is a head-to-head in Pool C: Perugia leads the group with four wins in four matches and 11 points, while Prague is bottom of the table with just two points.
The goal for the Bianconeri is to consolidate their lead and advance directly to the quarterfinals, bypassing the playoffs, with only two matches remaining in the group stage. After tomorrow’s match in Prague, the Block Devils’ final Pool C match is once again away, with the team set to play next Wednesday in Berlin.
Giannelli and his teammates already faced Prague in the first leg, which was their opening match of the group stage, played at the Palabarton Energy on December 10th. Perugia had won 3-1 after a point-for-point first set in which the Czech team, led by Argentine Juan Manuel Barrial, had pushed the hosts to take the set to advantage and win 24-26.
