Coach Boninfante’s team, after losing the tie-break to Itas Trentino in the Del Monte® Coppa Italia semifinal, is preparing for the trip to Poland for the first leg of the Playoff Round, the round preceding the Quarterfinals.
A top-level match will take place at Hala Widowiskowo – Sportowa in Jastrzebie Zdroj, with the Polish team boasting two Olympic medalists in their ranks: France’s Toniutti and the “host” Kaczmarek. Porro and his teammates will have to try to conquer the difficult terrain of the third-placed team in last season’s Champions League (and silver medalists in the 2023 and 2024 editions) before playing the decisive match at home next week at the PalaBancaSport in Piacenza.
