Top-level sport is joining forces to send a clear message: gender violence cannot and must not be ignored. For this reason, from April 7th to 12th, the Italian Sports Center – Milan Committee is promoting the social media campaign “Fuori Rosa: la violenza di genere non si richiama” (Outside the Club: Gender Violence Is Not Called Up), a week of awareness-raising aimed at the Committee’s over 650 sports clubs, as well as the entire sporting world.
Giving a face and voice to the campaign is a video featuring some of the leading figures in Serie A sports: Damiano Catania and Tommaso Ichino (Allianz Powervolley Milano), Lavinia Tornaghi (AC Milan Women), Haley Bugeja (Inter Women), and Giampaolo Ricci (Olimpia Milano). Different disciplines, one message: sport cannot remain silent.
“Every day, on our fields and in our gyms, we educate young people about life’s values through sport,” explains Massimo Achini, President of CSI Milano and Vice President of Allianz Powervolley Milano. “Gender-based violence affects everyone, and preventing and combating it is our responsibility. With “Fuori Rosa,” we want to reiterate that sport cannot be excluded: it must be an active part of a daily awareness-raising process, sending a clear, concrete, and shared message.”
