The Grottazzolina town council chamber was once again the setting chosen and desired by the M&G Volleyball School for a press conference that served as an ideal closing to the 2025-26 season, but also as an overture to the 2026-27 season.
Mayor Alberto Antognozzi opened the meeting: “I’m pleased to see a large turnout of journalists, as well as many fans and councilors. The championship didn’t go as we’d hoped, but we’re talking about a competitive sport, so we experience good times and bad, which can also be the result of a stronger or more skilled opponent. However, this shouldn’t erase what has come before. In recent years, Grottazzolina has risen to the top of national, and consequently global, volleyball, and this is and remains a source of great pride. We must thank those who have helped us achieve this: the club that has invested time and resources, the sponsors who have supported the movement, and the fans who have always followed it with unwavering passion, the fruit of three generations of volleyball players, fans, and supporters. I’m truly proud; it’s been a wonderful chapter in history, a story that continues, and from a decline, there can certainly be a recovery. A relegation doesn’t erase the good things we’ve done; we’ve fallen a step, but I feel a sense of pride and gratitude.”
