The week leading up to the Scudetto Final has begun! Anticipation is building under the Perugia stadium for the start of the season’s final series, the final act, in which the Block Devils will take to the field to compete for the Italian Championship title in a best-of-five match against Cucine Lube Civitanova.
The match will begin at the Bianconeri’s home ground on Thursday evening, April 30th, at 8:30 PM.
Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday, May 3rd, at 6:00 PM at the Eurosuole Forum in Civitanova, while Game 3, again in Perugia, is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6th, at 8:30 PM.
The Bianconeri team continues with the training program developed by the coaching staff for this final rush of the season. Today, work is focused on the weights room, under the guidance of athletic trainer Sebastian Carotti; tomorrow, the program continues with a double session, split between the gym in the morning and technical-tactical training on the Taraflex in the afternoon.
Perugia and Civitanova are back on the field, facing each other, for the third time this season, after the two regular-season home-and-away matches and the one-off Coppa Italia quarterfinal match. The last meeting between the two teams on the taraflex of the Pala Barton Energy dates back to that match, which was a qualifier for the Coppa Italia Final Four. That match was on December 30th, so the Sir Susa Scai Perugia-Cucine Lube Civitanova match will take place exactly four months after their last match at the Perugia stadium. On that occasion, the home team won 3-1, after a fairly evenly contested game. Balance could also be the defining feature of the series that begins Thursday night, between two teams that have proven to be major players in this championship. The wait is almost over!

Ahead of the start of the Scudetto Final, Coach Angelo Lorenzetti will present the series against Lube during a press conference scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 28, at 3:00 PM in the conference room of the Pala Barton Energy, first floor.
