The fairytale continues: Domotek soars to Serie A2. Laganà: “History for Reggio and for Calabria. And now I’m staying, this is my home.”

Reggio Calabria – An apotheosis of hugs, chants, and flags. The PalaCalafiore, packed with 7,000 people, provided the backdrop for a feat that carries the stamp of legend. Domotek Volley earned promotion to Serie A2 by beating Belluno 3-0, raising yet another trophy in a fairytale season. Captain Domenico Laganà, the face and soul of this project since day one, brought the circle to a close.

From the dust of the first training sessions with 150 fans to the explosion of joy last Sunday. A three-year journey that even he finds hard to believe.
Laganà appeared visibly moved, his eyes speaking louder than words: “No, I never would have predicted it. This is history for Reggio and for all of Calabria. Yesterday there were 7,000 people, many Calabrians and many Reggio residents. I’m so happy.”

The victory against Belluno wasn’t just a promotion move, but the icing on an already extraordinary cake: “Yesterday’s match was the icing on the cake of a historic season. We’re part of history, and we deserved it. Since September, we’ve been putting in a lot of sacrifice and sweat on that pitch.”

Domotek, in fact, hasn’t just climbed the league ladder. During this magical year, the club has secured the Super Cup, the Coppa Italia, and now promotion to Serie A2. A hat trick that not even the most optimistic had dared to dream of: “Meanwhile, in the men’s league: Coppa Italia, Super Cup, and championship. I couldn’t have asked for more.” Laganà admits that without Sunday’s victory, something would have been missing: “If we hadn’t won, it would still have been an important season, but the championship is the cherry on top. This has been our primary objective since October.”
